TEHACHAPI, CA (February 7, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a wrong-way accident on Highway 58 in Tehachapi on Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on February 5 about a mile west of the Tucker Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway when it collided into a semi truck.
 
As a result, at least one person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
At this time, the factors involved in the crash and liability remains under investigation.
