EDWARDS AFB, CA (November 8, 2021) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 58 near Edwards Air Force Base early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 2:45 a.m. on November 5 in the westbound lanes of Highway 58 near Castle Butte Road. CHP officials said two vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they found one occupant trapped inside one of the vehicles.
 
Paramedics performed life-saving measures, but one person died at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident the determine the ultimate cause and liability.
