Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova Kills at Least One

 
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (July 14, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova Tuesday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:25 p.m. on July 13, just east of Hazel Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a red sedan and gray vehicle collided. One of the drivers was recklessly driving prior to the collision. The impact sent one vehicle off the roadway.
 
Officers arrived and located the vehicles on the right shoulder. They also found at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity once it is confirmed and the next of kin is properly notified.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
