BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 22, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 178 in Bakersfield on Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened a little after 8:00 p.m. on March 19 just west of the Lower Richbar Picnic Area. According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
