One Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on East Cypress Road [Oakley, CA]

Early Morning Two-Vehicle Accident on East Cypress Road in Oakley Ends in Fatality

 
OAKLEY, CA (September 22, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on East Cypress Road in Oakley early Monday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:50 a.m. on September 20. The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the 2400 block East Cypress Road and located two vehicles, one of them had overturned on its side. The other vehicle was in the roadway blocking the eastbound traffic.
 
Fire crews extricated one person trapped inside the vehicle.
 
A short time later, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The other people involved sustained minor injuries.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not immediately available. It is also unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the fatal crash.
 
The Oakley Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
