Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Broadside Crash on Road 21 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (June 13, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a broadside crash on Road 21 on June 10.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Avenue 7 shortly after 5:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was in a Dodge Caravan and traveling southbound on Road 21 at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he did not yield to a stop sign at the intersection. Consequently, a Volvo broadsided his vehicle. Then, the Caravan overturned in the lanes.
 
As a result, the 54-year-old victim died in the incident. Officials did not release his identity pending kin notification. His female passenger suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Crews also sent the male driver of the Volvo to the hospital.
 
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. At this point, this broadside crash on Road 21 is still under investigation.
