One Killed in Train Crash on National Trails Highway at Robinson Ranch Road [Oro Grande, CA]

Train Collides with Vehicle on National Trails Highway in Oro Grande Killing at Least One Person

 
ORO GRANDE, CA (April 16, 2023) – At least one person was killed in a train crash on National Trails Highway in the community of Oro Grande Friday morning on April 14.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:41 a.m. at Robinson Ranch Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black or gray Volkswagen bug was on the tracks when the train crashed into it.
 
San Bernardino County Fire crews responded to the scene and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the crash.
 
The identity of the deceased was withheld at this time.
 
BNSF was advised of the investigation and both train service through the area was temporarily halted.
 
The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
