Traffic Accident on Highway 78 in Oceanside Ends in Fatality

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (July 31, 2022) – One person died in a traffic accident on Highway 78 in Oceanside on Saturday morning, July 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:45 a.m. at Jefferson Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the eastbound lanes of the highway after receiving reports of a traffic collision.
 
When officers arrived, they confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available. The exact number of vehicles involved was also unknown.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
