Early Morning Traffic Accident on 60 Freeway in Monterey Park Leaves One with Fatal Injuries

MONTEREY PARK, CA (October 11, 2021) – One person was killed in a traffic accident on Pomona (60) Freeway in Monterey Park early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:50 a.m. on October 10, at the intersection with Atlantic Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, at least two vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
 
First responders provided medical aid, but one person died at the scene.
 
Coroner’s officials will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
Crews raised a SigAlert in the area around 5:06 a.m., closing all eastbound lanes at Atlantic Boulevard for at least one hour while they cleared the wreckage.
 
The circumstances surrounding the fatality remain under investigation.
