Pedestrian Dies after Jumping in Front of Vehicle on Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 30, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita on Friday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:59 p.m. on March 25 at the intersection with Soledad Canyon Road. According to the CHP, the pedestrian had jumped in front of a vehicle in unclear circumstances. The driver was unable to stop in time and struck the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
It is unclear at this time whether drugs or alcohol was involved in the fatality. Further investigation is underway.
