Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Santa Fe Way in Shafter

 
SHAFTER, CA (September 14, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Santa Fe Way and Cherry Avenue in Shafter early Monday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 2:15 a.m. on September 12. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck the pedestrian at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
 
No further information is available at this time.
 
Shafter police shut down the northbound traffic on Sante Fe Way between Orange Avenue and Riverside Street for their investigation.
