Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Mission Boulevard in Fremont

 
FREMONT, CA (May 23, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Mission Boulevard in Fremont, early Saturday morning on May 21.
 
The accident happened around 12:15 a.m. near the Sullivan Underpass and the signature entrance to the Niles district. According to the Fremont Police Department, the pedestrian was walking across Mission Boulevard when a vehicle struck them.
 
After the crash, the driver stopped and called for help, then tried to tend to the injured pedestrian.
 
Soon after, police officers and emergency personnel arrived and provided additional aid, but the victim died at the scene.
 
The name, age and hometown of the pedestrian were not immediately available.
 
Police said the driver cooperated with officers. They did not indicate whether they arrested or cited anyone.
 
Further investigation is underway.
