Fatal Pedestrian Accident Reported on Indiana Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 10, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Indiana Avenue on February 2.
 
The pickup traveling east on Indiana Avenue struck a man crossing the street about 100 yards west of Jefferson Street at about 6:05 p.m., Riverside Police said. However, he died before he could be taken to a hospital.
 
The pedestrian was identified as 82-year-old Luis Torres of Riverside, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office said.
 
The 22-year-old Moreno Valley man behind the wheel of the truck stayed behind and was cooperative with investigators. However, it is unknown at this time if the man will be charged.
 
There was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, police said. As a result, an investigation by the authorities is ongoing.
