Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Tow Truck on Hooper Avenue in South LA

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (January 9, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Hooper Avenue and East Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles Friday night.
 
The accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. on January 7, near Franklin D. Roosevelt Park. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was either walking or standing in the area when a tow truck struck them.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
After crash, crews shut down all lanes of East Florence Avenue between Hooper Avenue and South Central Avenue for an unknown duration while they cleared the wreckage.
 
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
