Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 7, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 on June 3.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Airport Drive around 6:12 AM.
 
Based on a report, the male pedestrian was in the No. 2 lane at the time of the crash. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle came and struck the victim. Then, the driver left the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian sustained major injuries in the incident. An ambulance transported him to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced dead.
 
Police said the suspect vehicle could be a 2016-2018 Kia Optima with right front damage to the fender and wheel well. At this point, this pedestrian accident on Highway 99 is still under investigation.
