Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 at Turnpike Road in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (September 2, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 on September 1.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Turnpike Road shortly after 3:00 AM.
 
Based on reports, the pedestrian was crossing the highway at the time of the crash. He was heading toward the center divider from the right shoulder. Due to unknown reasons, a big rig hauling a trailer struck him.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the name of the victim pending kin notification. The truck driver was not remained at the scene after calling 911.
