Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Tow Truck on Highway 101 in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (October 3, 2022) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in San Jose late Thursday evening, September 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:10 p.m. near the Alum Rock Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Scion XB rear-ended a Tesla along the northbound lanes of the highway.
 
For unknown reasons, the male driver of the Scion ran across the freeway and was hit by a passing tow truck, the CHP said. The victim died at the scene.
 
The tow truck driver and the Tesla driver remained on scene.
 
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
