Pedestrian Dies Hours Before New Year after Struck by Vehicle at Forest and North Redwood Avenues

 
SAN JOSE, CA (January 2, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Forest Avenue and North Redwood Avenue in San Jose on Saturday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:31 p.m., just near the Westfield Valley Fair mall. According to the San Jose Police Department, the pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle struck them.
 
First responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital with major injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian was declared dead.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
At this time, the circumstances of this fatality are under investigation.
