Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Broadway in Lemon Grove

 
LEMON GROVE, CA (July 28, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Broadway in Lemon Grove late Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened a little before 10:40 p.m. on July 27, just east of Sweetwater Road. The location is under a bridge connecting Highway 125 and Highway 94.
 
Sheriff’s deputies did not provide details of how the crash occurred, but they confirmed that the pedestrian died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The crash was reported as a hit and run, but the lieutenant said deputies were out with the involved vehicle as of 11:30 p.m. The circumstances of that stop were unclear. It is also unknown if the vehicle had indeed fled the scene, stopped shortly after the crash or remained at the scene.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatality.
