Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 80 Freeway in Citrus Heights

 
CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (December 21, 2021) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on 80 Freeway in Citrus Heights Sunday night.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 6:00 p.m. on December 19, near Antelope Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when a vehicle struck them.
 
When officers arrived, they located the victim suffering from severe injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was not immediately available. It is also unclear if the involved driver has stayed after the crash.
