SAN DIEGO, CA (September 26, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 8 Freeway in San Diego early Thursday morning on September 22.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:26 a.m. along the eastbound freeway at Taylor Street and Hotel Circle. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian ran across the traffic lane when a vehicle struck them.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. At the time of this report, the victim was not publicly identified by police.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle sustained cuts on his arms and other injuries.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, an internal investigation is still ongoing.
