Fatal Pedestrian Accident Occurs on 5 Freeway at West San Ysidro Boulevard in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 13, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on northbound 5 Freeway on July 12.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at West San Ysidro Boulevard around 8:25 PM.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian was in either the first or second lane of the freeway. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
 
In addition, the fatal crash temporarily shut down a portion of a major freeway.
