Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs Involves Two Vehicles

 
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (October 27, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:00 a.m. on October 27 at the Valley View Ave off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident involved a Toyota Prius and a Chevrolet Tahoe.
 
When officers arrived, the pedestrian already died at the scene.
 
The Prius sustained major front-end damage, while the Chevrolet had rear damage.
 
At this time, it is unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
