One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (June 7, 2021) — One person suffered fatal injuries in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on Sunday, June 6.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports of the fatal crash at 12:23 a.m. Sunday. The incident occurred on the Golden State (5) Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard.
 
Medical responders rushed to the area. Then they pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.
 
The vehicle involved in the incident fled the location and the driver is still at large.
