Late Evening Pedestrian Accident on 280 Freeway in Daly City Turns Fatal
DALY CITY, CA (November 19, 2021) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on 280 Freeway in Daly City late Sunday evening.
The fatal accident happened around 10:59 p.m. on November 14 at the Eastmoor Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was either standing or walking in the area when a vehicle struck them.
Responding officers found the victim lying between the third and fourth lanes of the freeway. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian died at the scene.
The coroner’s office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
Officers issued a SigAlert, closing all lanes of the freeway near the crash site while they investigated the accident. They advised motorists to use alternate routes.
