Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Big Rig on 215 Freeway in Colton

COLTON, CA (July 21, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 215 Freeway in Colton late Monday evening, July 19.

The accident happened around 10:39 p.m. just east of 10 Freeway. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office, a big rig struck the pedestrian on the transition road in unclear circumstances.

Officers arrived to find the pedestrian pinned underneath the big rig and suffering from fatal injuries. They pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and factors involved.
