Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on 118 Freeway in Granada Hills, Driver Suffers Major Injuries

 
GRANADA HILLS, CA (August 31, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 118 Freeway in Granada Hills early Monday morning, August 29.
 
The accident happened just after 1:00 a.m. along the westbound freeway near the Woodley Avenue on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a man wearing black clothes was walking in the right lanes when a black sedan hit a right shoulder wall and overturned onto its side.
 
Minutes later, a driver in a white Tesla Model Y called the CHP saying he may have hit a body on the westbound side of the freeway.
 
Officers arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the black sedan was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center with major injuries.
 
At this time, this fatal crash is still under investigation.
