Pedestrian Dies in Early Morning Crash on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica

 
SANTA MONICA, CA (August 3, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica early Tuesday morning, August 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:58 a.m. just west of La Brea Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle struck them.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered significant injuries. Responding paramedics tried saving them, but the victim died at the scene.
 
The crash resulted in the closure of several lanes of the Santa Monica Freeway.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
