Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 10 Freeway in Indio

 
INDIO, CA (February 9, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway in Indio late Tuesday evening on February 7.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:05 p.m. just west of Highway 86 near Golf Center Parkway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking eastbound on the freeway when a vehicle struck them.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Responding officers did not find the involved vehicle or driver in the area and were still looking for them as of Wednesday morning.
 
The circumstances of this fatality are still under investigation.
