Early Morning Multi-Vehicle Accident on 880 Freeway in Hayward Ends in Fatality

 
HAYWARD, CA (June 21, 2021) – One person died early Sunday morning after a multi-vehicle accident on 880 Freeway in Hayward.
 
The accident happened around 3:03 a.m. on June 20, at the intersection with 238 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, one vehicle lost control for unknown reasons and collided with several other cars.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and found one person who was unresponsive. They attempted life-saving aid, but that person died at the scene.
 
The Alameda County Coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity once it is confirmed and next of kin is notified.
 
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
