Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway in Mission Viejo Area Ends in Fatality

 
MISSION VIEJO, CA (February 14, 2022) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in the Mission Viejo area, Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. on February 10 just between Oso Parkway and La Pas Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved at least six vehicles including a motorcyclist, two semi trucks, a blue SUV and a white Dodge Ram 3500.
 
The motorcyclist reportedly flew in the air and was lying on the right shoulder.
 
First responders confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the crash. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
One motorist in a white hatchback reportedly fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle should have damage to the right rear side.
 
At this time, investigators are still working on the case to determine the factors involved and liability.
