Semi-Truck Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Merle Haggard Drive in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 26, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a motorcycle crash on Merle Haggard Drive on July 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Airport Drive around 12:15 AM.
 
Based on reports, a big rig was traveling the wrong way on Merle Haggard at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it struck the motorcyclist. Then, the collision caused the big rig to go over the center median and into multiple trees.
 
As a result, the rider died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the name of the victim.
 
Consequently, the crash closed several lanes in the area.
 
At this point, this motorcycle crash on Merle Haggard Drive is still under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
