Big Rig Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Highway 299 at Highway 3 in Douglas City

 
DOUGLAS CITY, CA (August 6, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 299 on August 4.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just east of Highway 3 around 3:18 PM.
 
Based on reports, the victim’s motorcycle collided with a Peterbilt logging truck. Subsequently, responding officers found the rider under the big rig.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced the victim dead in the incident. Officials did not yet released the deceased’s identity pending kin notification.
 
In addition, officers said the highway was under one-way traffic control for about two hours.
 
At this point, an investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing. Also, other details are not yet clear at this time.
