Police Arrest Hit-and-Run Suspect after Fatally Striking Pedestrian Standing near Bus Stop in Desert Hot Springs

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (May 15, 2023) – One person died and Kristiana Raylene Saiz was arrested in a hit-and-run crash in Desert Hot Springs Saturday afternoon on May 13.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:30 p.m. near Palm Drive and Hacienda Avenue. According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, Saiz was driving her car northbound on Palm Drive when she drove onto the sidewalk, where the victim was standing near a bus stop.
 
The 86-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
Saiz fled drove off after the crash. She was later located and arrested.
