DUI Car Crash on Highway 111 in Palm Springs Leaves 1 Dead, Jackson George Arrested
PALM SPRINGS, CA (July 3, 2022) – One person died and police arrested Jackson George after a DUI crash on Highway 111 in Palm Springs early Sunday morning on July 3.
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. just north of Gateway Drive. According to the Palm Springs Police Department, two vehicles were traveling in the same direction on the highway when the suspect vehicle rear-ended the victims’ vehicle at a very high speed.
As a result, a 56-year-old male passenger in the second vehicle died at the scene. The 55-year-old female driver sustained minor injuries.
George, a 34-year-old of Whitewater, was the driver of the first vehicle. He also had minor injuries. Police later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Authorities said George had a previous out-of-state arrest related to DUI and would be booked into jail on suspicion of murder.
Further investigation is underway.
