BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 28, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 58 on July 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Cottonwood Road shortly before 3:49 AM.
 
Based on reports, the pedestrian was on the roadway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle came and struck the victim. Then, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the patient down in the road.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not release the deceased’s name pending kin notification.
 
As of now, no other information about the incident is available. In addition, the case is still under investigation by the Bakersfield Police Department.
