Head-On Accident on Highway 46 near Lost Hills Kills One Driver

 
LOST HILLS, CA (April 24, 2022) – One person was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 46 near Lost Hills on Thursday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. on April 21 at McCombs Avenue. According to California Highway Patrol, a semi-crane truck was traveling westbound on the highway, and a van was traveling eastbound.
 
CHP said it is unknown which vehicle veered to which lane, but a head-on crash occurred.
 
As a result, the driver of the van suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the semi truck was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
