Head-On Accident on Highway 1 in Bloomfield Ends in Fatality

 
BLOOMFIELD, CA (April 11, 2021) – One person was killed late Saturday evening in a head-on collision on Highway 1 in a rural Sonoma County.
 
The California Highway Patrol said the collision between two pickup trucks took place at 11:31 p.m. on April 10, at Valley Ford Road west of Bloomfield.
 
Officers responded and found one vehicle on fire and people were trapped inside. They determined that the two pickup trucks had collided head-on.
 
Emergency personnel performed life-saving measures, but one patient died at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available.
 
One other patient was airlifted to a Santa Rosa hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision. Further investigation is underway.
