Fatal Head-On Accident on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 6, 2022) – One person was killed in a head-on accident on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City on Sunday morning, September 4.
 
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. just south of Varner Road. According to the Cathedral City Police Department, one vehicle was traveling northbound on Date Palm Drive when it crossed over onto the southbound lanes. It then collided head-on with another vehicle heading southbound.
 
As a result, the driver of the northbound vehicle suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the occupants of the southbound vehicle to a hospital with moderate injuries.
 
No identifying information is available at this time.
