Head-On Accident at Cottonwood and Panama Roads Ends in Fatality

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 26, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a head-on accident at Cottonwood Road and Panama Road in South Bakersfield.
 
The accident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 24. According to the California Highway Patrol, at least two vehicles collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed at least one fatality as result of the collision. They will release the victim’s identity after notifying the next of kin.
 
It was unknown if there are other injuries sustained in the crash. CHP officers also did not indicate if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and liability.
