Morning Head-On Accident on Byron Highway in Alameda County Ends in Fatality

 
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA (July 1, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a head-on accident on Byron Highway in Alameda County on Friday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:55 a.m. on July 1 at Mountain House Road. According to the Alameda County Fire Department, a black SUV and a black sedan collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they found two people trapped inside one of the cars.
 
Paramedics provided medical aid to the victims, but at least one patient died at the scene.
 
The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available pending family notification.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
