Morning Head-On Crash on Avenue 7 in Madera County Kills 1 Driver

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (October 1, 2021) – One person was killed in a head-on accident on Avenue 7 in Madera County Thursday morning, September 30.
 
The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. near Highway 99. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and a Honda Civic collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
Responding firefighter found both drivers trapped inside their vehicles. They extricated them and provided aid, but one of the drivers died at the scene.
 
The other driver was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately released.
 
Officers said they found a dog in the bed of the pickup truck. Animal Control was called to pick the dog up, but it was unknown if it was hurt in the crash.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
