Fiery Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 41 in Fresno Kills 1 Driver

 
FRESNO, CA (July 5, 2022) – One person died in a fiery two-vehicle accident on Highway 41 in Fresno Monday afternoon on July 4.
 
The accident happened just before 3:00 p.m. near the Van Ness Avenue off-ramp. CHP officials said a Toyota pickup truck was traveling at an unsafe speed when it collided with a Ford Bronco SUV, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Harbor City.
 
The impact sent the Toyota into an embankment where it crashed a tree and caught fire.
 
The driver of the Toyota, a 56-year-old Fresno man, died at the scene. His name was not immediately available.
 
The woman driving the SUV and her passenger were unharmed.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
