Fiery Three-Vehicle Accident on 580 Freeway in Dublin Kills 1 and Injures 2

 
DUBLIN, CA (December 20, 2021) – One person died in a fiery three-vehicle accident on 580 Freeway near Dublin, early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on December 19 near Hopyard Road just underneath the 680 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, three vehicles collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused one of the vehicles to burst into flames.
 
When officers arrived, they found one person trapped inside the burning vehicle with fatal injuries. They pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported two other people to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, police arrested one person on suspicion of drunken driving in connection with the crash.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
