Fiery Accident on Highway 50 Involving Two Cars Turns Deadly

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 22, 2021) – One person died in a fiery accident on Highway 50 in Sacramento Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. on August 21, near the Howe Avenue on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Jeep had become disabled in the third lane of the highway for unknown reasons. The driver of a Ford vehicle did not see the disabled Jeep and struck it. The impact caused both cars to catch fire.
 
First responders found the driver of the burning Jeep dead inside the vehicle. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford was not injured.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
