Fiery Accident on 605 Freeway in Los Alamitos Ends in Fatality

 
LOS ALAMITOS, CA (June 8, 2022) – One person was killed in a fiery accident on 605 Freeway in Los Alamitos on Wednesday evening, June 1.
 
The accident happened around 9:05 p.m. at Katella Avenue. According to the Orange County Fire Authority, a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway when it crashed into the center divider. It then overturned on its roof and caught fire.
 
First responders confirmed one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
 
At this time, it is unclear if there are other injuries sustained in the crash. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
