Fiery Car Accident on 405 in Irvine Kills Driver, Leaves 2 Others in Critical Condition

 
IRVINE, CA (December 13, 2021) – One person was killed in a fiery accident on 405 Freeway in Irvine on Thursday afternoon.
 
The accident happened round 1:30 p.m. on December 9 along the southbound lanes of the freeway at Irvine Center Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle on the slick pavement when it lost control. It then veered toward the center median and was broadsided by another car.
 
The impact caused the first vehicle to catch fire. The driver was trapped inside and died at the scene.
 
Two other people suffered serious injuries. Paramedics took them to a trauma center in critical conditions.
 
At this time, an investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
