Car Involved in Fatal Accident on 80 Freeway in Vacaville

 
VACAVILLE, CA (August 16, 2021) – Police confirmed one person died in a car accident on 80 Freeway on August 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at 505 Freeway shortly before 5:00 AM.
 
Based on reports, a Toyota was driving eastbound on the freeway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it crossed into the center median. Then, it entered the roadway and collided with a Hyundai. Subsequently, multiple other cars crashed into it, ejecting the driver from the car.
 
As a result, the driver died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the name of the victim pending kin notification.
 
After an assessment, CHP believes alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor. At this point, this accident on 80 Freeway is still under investigation.
