SUV Rear-Ends Big Rig along 5 Freeway in Lodi Killing At Least One

 
LODI, CA (May 5, 2022) – One person was killed in a big rig accident on 5 Freeway in Lodi on Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on May 2 at the Turner Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig was traveling on the northbound lanes of the freeway when a white Toyota RAV4 SUV rear-ended into it.
 
As a result, at least one person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
 
It is unclear if there are other injuries sustained in the crash. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved.
 
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
