Bicyclist Dies after Colliding Head-On with SUV on Mines Road in Livermore

 
LIVERMORE, CA (February 8, 2022) – One person died in a bicycle accident on Mines Road in a remote area south of Livermore on Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:33 p.m. on February 6 near San Antonio Valley Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was heading northbound and a silver 2010 Land Rover was traveling southbound.
 
As they were approaching a curve in the road from opposite directions, both the bicyclist and the SUV crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on.
 
After the impact, the female bicyclist died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
At this time, the fatality is still under investigation. Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to be factors in the crash.
